Privacy Policy
This policy explains how General Motion Inc. collects, uses, shares, retains, and deletes personal information when you use our websites, applications, and services.
Effective July 16, 2026 · Last updated July 16, 2026
1. Scope
General Motion Inc. (“General Motion,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Delaware corporation. This Privacy Policy applies to General Motion websites and services, including Beam, our video-storage and publishing service. It does not govern a third-party platform’s own processing of information after you connect to or publish through that platform.
2. Information we collect
Account and organization information
We collect your name, email address, account credentials, organization membership, preferences, and account activity.
Files, videos, and publication instructions
We process files, video, captions, titles, descriptions, destination selections, schedules, visibility settings, and other information you provide for storage or publishing.
Connected-platform data
If you connect YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, X, or LinkedIn, we receive the data and permissions needed for the features you request. This can include:
- Account, channel, profile, or page identifiers and display information.
- OAuth authorization and refresh tokens and the scopes you granted.
- Creator capabilities, publishing limits, or connection-health information.
- Post identifiers, publication status, processing results, permalinks, and provider error details.
We do not receive or store your password for a connected platform.
Payments and communications
Payment processors may provide us with billing status, transaction identifiers, and limited payment-method details such as card brand and last four digits. We do not store full payment-card numbers. We also collect information you send to us directly.
Technical and usage information
We collect information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, browser or device type, request time, authentication events, feature usage, diagnostic events, and error logs. We use necessary cookies or similar browser storage for account sessions, security, and preferences. We do not use this information for targeted advertising.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve General Motion services.
- Authenticate users and enforce organization access controls.
- Store and process content at your direction.
- Connect the accounts you select and publish, schedule, monitor, retry, or cancel destination actions you expressly request.
- Show publication status, provider errors, and remediation guidance.
- Process payments and measure service usage.
- Respond to support, privacy, security, and legal requests.
- Prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and comply with law.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use connected-platform data for advertising, surveillance, credit or insurance decisions, or training general-purpose artificial-intelligence models.
4. Social-platform APIs
General Motion accesses connected platforms only after you authorize a connection and only for features shown to you. Before publishing, we identify the destination, content, metadata, and visibility setting when supported.
Beam uses YouTube API Services. Google’s handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You may revoke General Motion’s access to Google or YouTube data through Google’s third-party access settings, as well as through General Motion when that connection control is available.
Other platforms process information under their own privacy policies and terms. We send content and instructions only when you choose a destination or request a platform action.
5. How we share information
We disclose information only as needed:
- At your direction. We send videos, metadata, and instructions to the destination platforms and accounts you select.
- To service providers. Vendors may process information for hosting, storage, databases, authentication, payments, monitoring, security, email, and customer support under contractual restrictions.
- Within your organization. Authorized organization members may access information according to their permissions.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is needed to comply with law, protect rights, investigate abuse, or secure the service.
- For a business transaction. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain account information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Stored files remain until deleted or the account is closed, subject to limited backup, security, and legal-retention periods.
We retain connected-platform credentials only while the connection is active and needed for the authorized feature. When you disconnect an account through General Motion, we revoke the provider token where the provider supports revocation and delete our stored authorization credentials. Publication records may remain so your organization can see what it instructed General Motion to publish, unless you request their deletion.
We delete YouTube Authorized Data covered by an account-deletion or data-deletion request as soon as possible and within 7 calendar days. If access is revoked through Google and we discover the revocation outside our service, we delete the associated API Data as soon as possible and within 30 calendar days. Other stored YouTube API Data is deleted or refreshed within the periods required by the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
We honor verified deletion requests as described in our data-deletion instructions. We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or dispute purposes, and may retain information that has been deidentified so it can no longer reasonably identify you.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, encryption in transit, restricted credential access, and monitoring. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Report suspected vulnerabilities to security@generalmotion.studio.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, object to, restrict, or delete personal information, or to withdraw consent. Email privacy@generalmotion.studio to make a request. We may verify your identity and authority before fulfilling it.
You can disconnect a social account, revoke access in the platform’s settings, delete stored content, or close your General Motion account. Revoking access or deleting data from General Motion does not delete a post already published on a destination platform.
9. International processing
General Motion is based in the United States. We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10. Children
General Motion services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version here and change the date above. If a change materially expands how we use connected-platform data, we will provide notice and obtain consent when required.
